Hamdullah Kılıçdaroğlu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Hagalín Olgeirsson made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Hamdullah Kılıçdaroğlu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Madrid Beyaz's supporters rose to their feet, but Hamdullah Kılıçdaroğlu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hagalín Olgeirsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hamdullah Kılıçdaroğlu succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 9th playminute. Boğaç Sağıt charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Boğaç Sağıt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Madrid Beyaz getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Boğaç Sağıt hit a great ball. Hagalín Olgeirsson made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Hamdullah Kılıçdaroğlu sent off a good shot on target. Dælur Reykjavík's Hagalín Olgeirsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Dælur Reykjavík from getting a goal against them. In the 17th minute, Hamdullah Kılıçdaroğlu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hagalín Olgeirsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After 19 played minutes Madrid Beyaz got a freekick which was hit by Tacettin Oral. Erim Üstek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ragnar Ráðgeirsson in the 23rd minute of play. 26 minutes had been played when some careless play by Madrid Beyaz's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gunnþór Guðlaugsson was slow to take the kick. During this time Dælur Reykjavík's players had a chance to rest. Dælur Reykjavík's Hektor Ingvarsson was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Erim Üstek in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Hagalín Olgeirsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hamdullah Kılıçdaroğlu in the 27th minute of play. After 28 minutes, Auðunn Róbertsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dælur Reykjavík and the Madrid Beyaz players grew even worse after the yellow card. Madrid Beyaz's Olgun Ergüden was substituted for Tacettin Oral. The supporters of Madrid Beyaz booed when Dælur Reykjavík was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Auðunn Róbertsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Dælur Reykjavík's zone, Vecdi Türkcan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hagalín Olgeirsson came out of the goal and Vecdi Türkcan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 33 minutes, Vecdi Türkcan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Madrid Beyaz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vecdi Türkcan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dælur Reykjavík's Bjargþór Ævarsson got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Akın Garip had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute Vecdi Türkcan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hagalín Olgeirsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ragnar Ráðgeirsson to strike the kick off in the second half. Erim Üstek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ragnar Ráðgeirsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Auðunn Róbertsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Erim Üstek made a huge save. 54 minutes into the match, Dælur Reykjavík's goal looked a bit too open when Hamdullah Kılıçdaroğlu came free, but Hagalín Olgeirsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hagalín Olgeirsson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ahmet Hayri Özkar went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Madrid Beyaz's Hamdullah Kılıçdaroğlu got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Hagalín Olgeirsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. 68 minutes into the match, Hamdullah Kılıçdaroğlu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hagalín Olgeirsson. Dælur Reykjavík's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hamdullah Kılıçdaroğlu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olgun Ergüden in the 78th minute of play forced Dælur Reykjavík's goalkeeper Hagalín Olgeirsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elínbergur Þorsteinsson scored 6-4 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Erim Üstek, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Erim Üstek was a little too slow when Ragnar Ráðgeirsson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 90th minute. The score was now 6-5. In the 94th minute Ragnar Ráðgeirsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erim Üstek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dælur Reykjavík's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
