In the 9thth minute of the game Jeremias Seco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Loja S.C.'s Fidel Lecea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alexandro Antoniano's late challenge caught a Meninos De Cotia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alexandro Antoniano helped the player get up and apologised. In the 10th match minute, Loja S.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexandro Antoniano to maneuver through the defense. Dário de Azevedo kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Veronica Sabugo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carlos Eduardo Corrêa having to make a save. 16 minutes into the game, Mao Yu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Fidel Lecea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fidel Lecea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michel Batistuta in the 18th minute of the match. Loja S.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Moisés Yañez in the 26th minute. Loja S.C.'s Fidel Lecea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeremias Seco in the 35th minute of play. Meninos De Cotia were awarded a corner in the 36th minute after Loja S.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mao Yu took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Mao Yu got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Fidel Lecea quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 37 minutes into the match, Meninos De Cotia's goalkeeper Carlos Eduardo Corrêa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Veronica Sabugo. 44 minutes into the game, Samuel Nocedo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Loja S.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Meninos De Cotia the free kick. After 44 played minutes Loja S.C. got a freekick which was hit by Samuel Nocedo. After having played for 46 minutes, Jeremias Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Meninos De Cotia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jeremias Seco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jeremias Seco to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jeremias Seco in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fidel Lecea saved Loja S.C. from getting behind. Felix Pascua took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlos Eduardo Corrêa. Carlos Eduardo Corrêa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. In the 57th minute, Felix Pascua ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carlos Eduardo Corrêa was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Jeremias Seco scored 2-4 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fidel Lecea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Fidel Lecea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeremias Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 72 minutes into the match, Loja S.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Michel Batistuta came free, but Fidel Lecea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fidel Lecea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michel Batistuta, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Meninos De Cotia's zone, Felix Pascua stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Eduardo Corrêa came out of the goal and Felix Pascua tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carlos Eduardo Corrêa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Pascua, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. The audience was convinced that Michel Batistuta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fidel Lecea was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. Loja S.C. succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Meninos De Cotia had controlled the match.
