Enrique Enoch made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 25th minute Armando Natalucci shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Enoch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Natalucci came free, but Enrique Enoch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bruno Antognoni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ervigio Ojeda in the 33rd minute of play. Enrique Enoch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bianco Silvi in the 46th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Rogelio Mendiola made the kick off in the second half. Bianco Silvi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Enrique Enoch made a huge save. In the 64th minute, Carlo Darrigrande made a precise shot to the right of Bruno Antognoni. Italy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Bruno Antognoni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlo Darrigrande, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Juan Ramírez got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 2-2. 80 minutes into the match. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chile's goalkeeper Enrique Enoch, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Chile's Enrique Enoch proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Chile from getting a goal against them. Flavio Miconi scored 2-3 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Enrique Enoch, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Bruno Antognoni came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Chile's Alfonso Goicoechea. But to his dismay, Alfonso Goicoechea quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
