Klement Dupal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anthony Vaissière read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. After 44 played minutes AFK Petržalka got a freekick which was hit by Klement Dupal.

If Diego Loche had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Diego Loche came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Stade Ygossais fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diego Loche couldn't finish the play. Eugène Guiguet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 64 minutes, Eugène Guiguet managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stade Ygossais's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eugène Guiguet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Klement Dupal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to AFK Petržalka getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Miroslav Brezník hit a great ball. Miroslav Brezník was shown his second yellow card after 76 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Klement Dupal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Anthony Vaissière tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anthony Vaissière showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tibor Kavecký, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. The AFK Petržalka players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
