In the 36th match minute, DINAMO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Remus Șerbulea to maneuver through the defense. After 37 played minutes AFK Petržalka got a freekick which was hit by Klement Dupal. Ivan Adamčík showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adam Rednic in the 41st minute of the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Klement Dupal made a kick off. If Tibor Kavecký had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Horea Hurmuzache showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tibor Barmoš, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. The corner ended in Ivan Kaľavský almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but DINAMO's Horea Hurmuzache did a great save. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Tibor Barmoš put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Horea Hurmuzache. AFK Petržalka's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave DINAMO the free kick. A collision led to AFK Petržalka getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Klement Dupal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, AFK Petržalka's Ivan Adamčík got control of the ball when Adam Rednic tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Miroslav Brezník was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 97 minutes had been played. After 98 played minutes AFK Petržalka got a freekick which was hit by Miroslav Brezník. The AFK Petržalka players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
