The goalkeeper, Ivan Adamčík, was totally fooled by Club Sportiv Medgidia's Augustin Horea, who 10 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 14 minutes into the game, AFK Petržalka's Tibor Barmoš nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nicu Arghirescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Ivan Adamčík made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ştefan Alupulesei in the 17th minute of play. If Tibor Barmoš had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tibor Barmoš in the 19th minute of play forced Club Sportiv Medgidia's goalkeeper Nicu Arghirescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When AFK Petržalka's Tibor Barmoš in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After having played for 40 minutes, Augustin Horea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Sportiv Medgidia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Augustin Horea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-3 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Klement Dupal to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Tibor Barmoš got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Augustin Horea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Adamčík having to interfere. After 59 minutes of play, AFK Petržalka's Tibor Barmoš made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nicu Arghirescu was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Tibor Kavecký had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Club Sportiv Medgidia's Nicu Arghirescu got control of the ball when Tibor Barmoš tried to sneak it across the goal line.
