The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the game, Tiberiu Caramarin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ysmael Marfil was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. DINAMO's Ysmael Marfil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiberiu Caramarin in the 10th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Tiberiu Caramarin notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of DINAMO's Ysmael Marfil. Ysmael Marfil was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ysmael Marfil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiberiu Caramarin in the 21st minute of play. MIT's Calistrat Madgearu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudio Cina in the 32nd minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, DINAMO's goal looked a bit too open when Tiberiu Caramarin came free, but Ysmael Marfil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, MIT's Dorin Banu got a free kick in the 36th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiberiu Caramarin in the 46th minute of play forced DINAMO's goalkeeper Ysmael Marfil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.
With his leg Ysmael Marfil managed to avoid a goal in the 53rdth minute, when MIT's Tiberiu Caramarin fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. DINAMO's Ysmael Marfil proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save DINAMO from getting a goal against them. A collision led to DINAMO getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Dorin Agârbiceanu hit a great ball. Ysmael Marfil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dorin Banu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tiberiu Caramarin in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ysmael Marfil prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, DINAMO's Ysmael Marfil got control of the ball when Tiberiu Caramarin tried to sneak it across the goal line. 70 minutes into the game, Tiberiu Caramarin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Ysmael Marfil was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Florin Seremet struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Ysmael Marfil didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MIT. 78 minutes into the game, DINAMO's Ryszard Borcz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Calistrat Madgearu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. In the 83rd minute Ryszard Borcz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Calistrat Madgearu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Tiberiu Caramarin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ysmael Marfil was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. After 88 played minutes DINAMO got a freekick which was hit by Ryszard Borcz. MIT's Aurel Buzea was substituted for Florin Seremet. Ryszard Borcz hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind DINAMO's goalkeeper Ysmael Marfil, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
MIT's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
