The audience thought a goal was coming when 姚沙潮 got free with Jerónimo Bettencourt in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Tortugas's Jerónimo Bettencourt got control of the ball when 姚沙潮 tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jerónimo Bettencourt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andriy 黄振, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andriy 黄振 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerónimo Bettencourt having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Tortugas's goalkeeper Jerónimo Bettencourt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by 姚沙潮. If Olufemi Ononogbo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. After a rather tough play, Tortugas's Thrinakie Hagias got a free kick in the 45th minute. Tortugas's Jerónimo Bettencourt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andriy 黄振 in the 46th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jerónimo Bettencourt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand.
