Luan Vergílio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Humberto Saron in the 11th minute of the match. In the 13thth minute of the game Perivaldo Ribeiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Philadelphia Union FC's Dmytro Zhak was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Philadelphia Union FC fans' excitement grew in the 14th match minute when Philadelphia Union FC's Humberto Saron looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Humberto Saron had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 19th minute, Humberto Saron got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Humberto Saron did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Luan Vergílio 20 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Humberto Saron managed to get in a good position for a shot. Philadelphia Union FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Humberto Saron was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luan Vergílio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 30th match minute, Aguacu EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Perivaldo Ribeiro to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Humberto Saron in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luan Vergílio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Aguacu EC's zone, Yevgen Romanenko stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luan Vergílio came out of the goal and Yevgen Romanenko tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 36th play minutes Humberto Saron shot 3-0, a short shot which went by Luan Vergílio and just under the crossbar into goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Humberto Saron made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ediberto Barreto got free with Dmytro Zhak in the 50th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 53 played minutes Aguacu EC got a freekick which was hit by Nando da Silveira. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefan Gustavsson in the 56th minute of play forced Aguacu EC's goalkeeper Luan Vergílio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfredo Pereira's late challenge caught a Philadelphia Union FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfredo Pereira helped the player get up and apologised. In the 59th minute, Alfredo Pereira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 62 minutes, the score became 5-0 when Humberto Saron sped through Aguacu EC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Luan Vergílio. Angelo Freitas made a great header on Philadelphia Union FC's corner, it was just that Aguacu EC's Luan Vergílio managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 93rd minute Domenico Costacurta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luan Vergílio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
