MarquinhosEC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Olavs Eliass was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After some careless play in the FC Iecēni defense, Fausto Di Blasio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Genaro Ponciano. The FC Iecēni fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Genaro Ponciano should have stopped the shot. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by MarquinhosEC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gints Lielgalvis was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Iecēni's players had a chance to rest. 21 minutes into the match, MarquinhosEC's goal looked a bit too open when Marek Hamšík came free, but Matei Răducu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The MarquinhosEC fans' excitement grew in the 23rd match minute when MarquinhosEC's Harm de Freitas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alessandro do Valle got free with Genaro Ponciano in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 30 minutes into the match, Alessandro do Valle notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of FC Iecēni's Genaro Ponciano. Genaro Ponciano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A throw-in in the 38th minute of the game was made by Pedrinho Siqueira with Fausto Di Blasio as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Genaro Ponciano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harm de Freitas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. MarquinhosEC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. MarquinhosEC made a substitution. In the 73rd minute Marek Hamšík shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matei Răducu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. MarquinhosEC had played much better football throughout.
