The supporters of Merengue FC booed when CA Quake was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victoriano Sustrai didn't get a good kick on the ball. CA Quake's Silverio Cordearo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edelmiro Quintyn in the 19th minute of play. When Andres Ubelteso fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CA Quake's protests and gave Andres Ubelteso a yellow card for diving instead. In the 24th minute, one of CA Quake:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for CA Quake. 25 minutes into the game, Maxi Nuñez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Silverio Cordearo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 31 minutes into the game, Domingo Jago cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benicio Balasi in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mateo Llorienzo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roland Banaszak got free with Silverio Cordearo in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Roland Banaszak's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 57thth minute, Silverio Cordearo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Rogelio Sadurni hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Silverio Cordearo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domingo Jago in the 60th minute of play. 61 minutes had been played when some careless play by CA Quake's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edelmiro Quintyn was slow to take the kick. During this time Merengue FC's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Edelmiro Quintyn got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Silverio Cordearo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a rather tough play, Merengue FC's Darwin Núñez got a free kick in the 65th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Benicio Balasi in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mateo Llorienzo saved Merengue FC from getting behind. When Merengue FC's Roland Banaszak in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Silverio Cordearo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Darwin Núñez struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Silverio Cordearo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Merengue FC. CA Quake's Jacobo Mouricio was substituted for Victoriano Sustrai. CA Quake's Igor Jago was substituted for Abel Inko. In the 81st minute Cayetano Aznaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateo Llorienzo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roland Banaszaks short, quick shot in the 88thth minute got Silverio Cordearo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 90 minutes CA Quake's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Edelmiro Quintyn who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Edelmiro Quintyn almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but CA Quake's Silverio Cordearo did a great save. Domingo Jago's late challenge caught a CA Quake's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Domingo Jago helped the player get up and apologised. In the 96th match minute, Merengue FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Domingo Jago to maneuver through the defense. When the match was over Merengue FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than CA Quake throughout the match.
