The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 8 minutes into the match, Westra Aros SK's goal looked a bit too open when Domingo Jago came free, but Ivan Västlund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Darwin Núñez might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ivan Västlund. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Darwin Núñez ran back to his position shaking his head. Ivan Västlund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roland Banaszak in the 13th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Westra Aros SK's goal looked a bit too open when Domingo Jago came free, but Ivan Västlund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gökberk Özgenc in the 17thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Mateo Llorienzo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 26th minute, Patrik Wacherhausen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 27 minutes into the match, Westra Aros SK's goal looked a bit too open when Darwin Núñez came free, but Ivan Västlund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Domingo Jago recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ivan Västlund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Darwin Núñez, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Thanks to some nice moves Gökberk Özgenc could shoot a difficult shot in the 43rd minute, which Mateo Llorienzo however easily saved by the left post. Roberto Baggio charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roberto Baggio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Roland Banaszak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Västlund having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Roland Banaszak was the one to do the kick off. Westra Aros SK's Ivan Västlund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Domingo Jago in the 51st minute of play. Mateo Llorienzo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roberto Baggio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Roland Banaszak could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Ivan Västlund made a huge save. 57 minutes into the match, Westra Aros SK's goal looked a bit too open when Domingo Jago came free, but Ivan Västlund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, Westra Aros SK's goalkeeper Ivan Västlund had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Darwin Núñez. Gökberk Özgenc took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mateo Llorienzo. Mateo Llorienzo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Westra Aros SK made a substitution. Ismael Jenaro replaced Roberto Baggio. Edelmiro Quintyn hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Westra Aros SK's Florian Galeone got a free kick in the 67th minute. In the 72nd minute Domingo Jago shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Västlund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 74 minutes into the game, Edelmiro Quintyn threw the ball into play from the sideline. Westra Aros SK's Jörn Hylander quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gökberk Özgenc in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mateo Llorienzo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 88th match minute, Westra Aros SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ismael Jenaro to maneuver through the defense. After 89 played minutes, Merengue FC's Everardo Nerio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ivan Västlund came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Merengue FC reached it. After 94 minutes, Gökberk Özgenc made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Merengue FC's Mateo Llorienzo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
