Thanks to some nice moves Alfons Delin could shoot a difficult shot in the 10th minute, which Anusruta Penisson however easily saved by the left post. Jerry Fristedt's late challenge caught a Vykans Vikingar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jerry Fristedt helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Vykans Vikingar booed when VfL Wolfsburg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jerry Fristedt didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Martin Hedlund during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, VfL Wolfsburg's Martin Hedlund got a free kick in the 13th minute. In the 15th minute, VfL Wolfsburg's Marouane Kiefer dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. 18 minutes into the match, Vykans Vikingar's goalkeeper Anusruta Penisson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marouane Kiefer. In the 27th minute of the match, Marouane Kiefer got a very nice opportunity to score, but Anusruta Penisson was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Olle Tunander came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Vykans Vikingar's Boris Lövgren. But to his dismay, Boris Lövgren quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Anusruta Penisson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kenneth Wallander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anusruta Penisson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerry Fristedt in the 33rd minute of the match. 36 minutes into the match, VfL Wolfsburg's goal looked a bit too open when Ingvar Sjögren came free, but Olle Tunander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marouane Kiefer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Anusruta Penisson made a huge save. After 41 minutes of play, Vykans Vikingar's Boris Lövgren made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Olle Tunander was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jerry Fristedts short, quick shot in the 44thth minute got Anusruta Penisson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Olle Tunander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Folke Örnberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Boris Lövgren in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olle Tunander saved VfL Wolfsburg from getting behind. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jerry Fristedt to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Jens Hafström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vykans Vikingar's supporters rose to their feet, but Jens Hafström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Olle Tunander breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 58 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for VfL Wolfsburg! VfL Wolfsburg:s Olle Tunander showed great skill when he stopped Boris Lövgren:s penalty. In the 59th minute, Boris Lövgren ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Olle Tunander was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-4. After having played for 68 minutes, Martin Hedlund managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. VfL Wolfsburg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martin Hedlund was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match clock showed 71 minutes, the score became 3-5 when Boris Lövgren sped through VfL Wolfsburg's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Olle Tunander. Olle Tunander was out of position in the 74 minute of play, and Boris Lövgren capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Boris Lövgren really showed his touch with that goal: 3-6. In the 77th minute, Martin Hedlund left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The VfL Wolfsburg fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-6. Boris Lövgren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Olle Tunander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 84 minutes into the match, Marouane Kiefer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Anusruta Penisson. Vykans Vikingar's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marouane Kiefer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-6. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ingvar Sjögren got free with Olle Tunander in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Boris Lövgren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jerry Fristedt hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. 92 minutes into the match, Sten Ånger dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Olle Tunander, 5-7. The VfL Wolfsburg supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Vykans Vikingar's performance. The match ended with a win for Vykans Vikingar.
