A sloppy throw-in by Yang Quan in the 32nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Degerfors IF's Mattias Västlund. The supporters of La vecchia signora booed when Degerfors IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mattias Västlund didn't get a good kick on the ball. Håkan Söderberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from CJ Kane, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37thth minute of the game CJ Kane who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Degerfors IF's Håkan Söderberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Degerfors IF getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Artemio Maore hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Åke Fors got free with Thomas Ravelli in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. La vecchia signora walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
