The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Liviu Mușătescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Andrei Vârjean fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manole Ghiondea having to interfere. The supporters of Fotbal Club Vaslui booed when Galati Harbour Cats was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastian Andone didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Andrei Vârjean in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Manole Ghiondea prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 12th minute, Aurel Halipa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 24th minute, Galati Harbour Cats's Iustin Neagoe dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. In the 26th minute, Sebastian Andone got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 28th match minute, Galati Harbour Cats was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastian Andone to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Fotbal Club Vaslui's Gigel Rânceanu got control of the ball when Iustin Neagoe tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 36th minute, Iustin Neagoe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iustin Neagoe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Iustin Neagoe to make the kick off. Iustin Neagoe scored 3-0 in the 51st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gigel Rânceanu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 56thth minute of the game Iustin Neagoe who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fotbal Club Vaslui's Gigel Rânceanu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Liviu Mușătescu came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Fotbal Club Vaslui fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Liviu Mușătescu couldn't finish the play. 62 minutes into the match, Galati Harbour Cats's Sabin Zbârnea sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gigel Rânceanu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 66th match minute, Galati Harbour Cats was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by George Brășneanu to maneuver through the defense. After 68 minutes, Alin Şoltuz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Galati Harbour Cats and the Fotbal Club Vaslui players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Fotbal Club Vaslui getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Víglundur von der Schulenburg hit a great ball. Filip Mavrogheni recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 80 minutes into the game, Iustin Neagoe cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Gigel Rânceanu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Sabin Zbârnea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute, Iustin Neagoe made a precise shot to the right of Gigel Rânceanu. Fotbal Club Vaslui's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. If Iustin Neagoe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 97 minutes into the game, Felix Nisporeanu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-1. Manole Ghiondea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Galati Harbour Cats were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Fotbal Club Vaslui for a fine match.
