The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eusebiu Ianculescu got free with Mircea Avacariței in the 2nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 9th minute, Jack Ares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 11th minute, Nicu Maghiran left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Urzicuța fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 15th minute Nicu Maghiran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remus Vuia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 16 played minutes FC Urzicuța got a freekick which was hit by Turgay Sökmensu. With an all-out effort, Granicerul's Mircea Avacariței threw himself towards the right post 21 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jack Ares, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Sandu Baltian hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. The Granicerul fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Eusebiu Ianculescu kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Nik Nicola took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Remus Vuia. Remus Vuia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Mircea Avacariței took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusebiu Ianculescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half.
