Filip Jităreanu kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Grigore Săndoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Traian Roşu in the 21st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stelian Rotariu got free with Octavian Bogdănescu in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 36 minutes into the game, Augustin Nechifor cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Grigore Săndoi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
