Eric Astafei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augustin Cucerzan having to interfere. Vlad Covrig showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Sampil, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Luis Sampil could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Vlad Covrig made a huge save. A collision led to PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Mircea Jupân hit a great ball.
