Dacian Iurea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Irinel Itoafă in the 5th minute. FC Berea's Dacian Iurea proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save FC Berea from getting a goal against them. In the 14th match minute, FC Berea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petrică Gherghe to maneuver through the defense. 18 minutes into the match, Stiinta-Univ.'s goal looked a bit too open when Basarab Arotăriței came free, but Denis Ghee reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stiinta-Univ.'s Denis Ghee played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Basarab Arotăriței in the 23rd minute of play. Basarab Arotăriței fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denis Ghee having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sabin Vâlcu in the 34th minute of play forced Stiinta-Univ.'s goalkeeper Denis Ghee to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Victor Rotariu fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Berea's protests and gave Victor Rotariu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 38th match minute, FC Berea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victor Rotariu to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 39 minutes, Cazimir Pânzaru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stiinta-Univ.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Cazimir Pânzaru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dacian Iurea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matei Onaca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Denis Ghee showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Basarab Arotăriței in the 42nd minute of the match. Cazimir Pânzaru could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Dacian Iurea made a huge save. In the 45th minute, Berea Matei hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Basarab Arotăriței to strike the kick off in the second half. With an all-out effort, FC Berea's Denis Ghee threw himself towards the right post 51 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Basarab Arotăriței, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Petrică Gherghe's late challenge caught a Stiinta-Univ.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Petrică Gherghe helped the player get up and apologised. After 56 played minutes FC Berea got a freekick which was hit by Petrică Gherghe. FC Berea made a substitution. Edgar Panțâru replaced Petrică Gherghe. Denis Ghee showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basarab Arotăriței, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Denis Ghee made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basarab Arotăriței in the 64th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Stiinta-Univ.'s Matei Onaca got a free kick in the 65th minute. Denis Ghee made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sabin Vâlcu in the 65th minute. Denis Ghee made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olimpiu Tapalagă in the 67th minute of play. In the 81st minute, Olimpiu Tapalagă got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Stiinta-Univ. booed when FC Berea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Berea Luca didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 85 minutes into the game, when Costin Cuculeanu put in a rough tackle. After 85 played minutes Stiinta-Univ. got a freekick which was hit by Costin Cuculeanu. 86 minutes into the game, Basarab Arotăriței cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Denis Ghee was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, FC Berea's Liviu Mihaiu got a free kick in the 89th minute. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Stiinta-Univ.'s goalkeeper Denis Ghee, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. FC Berea's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
