The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of FC PIETROSUL -MM- booed when The Owls was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victor Bufi didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 3 minutes, Vasile Hâncu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC PIETROSUL -MM- and the The Owls players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 3rd match minute, FC PIETROSUL -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vasile Hâncu to maneuver through the defense. Francisc Firoiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorin Busuioceanu in the 10th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valentin Ursulescu in the 14th minute of play forced FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s goalkeeper Călin Izvoranu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bogdan Ştercă kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. The Owls's Petruț Alecu shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 16th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Călin Izvoranu but with some difficulty. 19 minutes into the match, Leontin Tudorică had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Francisc Firoiu. The Owls's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leontin Tudorică was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorin Busuioceanu in the 22nd minute of play forced The Owls's goalkeeper Francisc Firoiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 27 minutes into the match, FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s goalkeeper Călin Izvoranu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marin Alucai. David Tâbârnă hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Vlad Brezoi kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. 33 minutes into the match, Petruț Alecu notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s Călin Izvoranu. Călin Izvoranu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Eugen Chiriacescu hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. If Petruț Alecu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 41st match minute, FC PIETROSUL -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vlad Brezoi to maneuver through the defense. Vasile Hâncu scored 1-2 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Francisc Firoiu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Iulian Pordea was the one to do the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Octav Martinaș notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of The Owls's Francisc Firoiu. Francisc Firoiu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Călin Izvoranu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iulian Pordea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Owls's Francisc Firoiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Tâbârnă in the 61st minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Dorin Busuioceanu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Francisc Firoiu. That made the score 1-4 in the 63 minute of play. Francisc Firoiu made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Octav Martinaș sent off a good shot on target. After 69 played minutes The Owls got a freekick which was hit by Damian Bârlea. After 73 played minutes The Owls got a freekick which was hit by Victor Bufi. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Marius Turcu managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s supporters rose to their feet, but Marius Turcu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Francisc Firoiu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 76 minutes into the game, Dorin Busuioceanu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Francisc Firoiu. Dorin Busuioceanu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-5. Francisc Firoiu made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Octav Martinaș sent off a good shot on target. Francisc Firoiu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
