Seating: 40, VIP seats: 3) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Bruno Gotti got the match started through his kick off. The supporters of Carpathians booed when FC Buzău was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aristide Vlădoiu didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Bruno Gotti came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Carpathians fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bruno Gotti couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ilie Nasta in the 8th minute of play forced Carpathians's goalkeeper Basarab Pârcălab to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 10th minute Ilie Nasta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basarab Pârcălab saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, Ilie Nasta had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Basarab Pârcălab. Carpathians's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ilie Nasta was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Bruno Gotti could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Alex Buzincu made a huge save. 13 minutes into the game, Ionuț Năsturel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Basarab Pârcălab was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Carpathians's Basarab Pârcălab played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Ţiţeica in the 19th minute of play. The corner led FC Buzău's Ionuț Năsturel to fire away a dangerous shot which Basarab Pârcălab despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Basarab Pârcălab showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilian Răduța, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Basarab Pârcălab took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ionuț Năsturel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Emilian Răduța's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Basarab Pârcălab was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. In the 40th minute, Alex Adam hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carpathians's Basarab Pârcălab played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emilian Răduța in the 43rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by George Ţiţeica in the 48th minute of play forced Carpathians's goalkeeper Basarab Pârcălab to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half FC Buzău were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Emilian Răduța stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. George Ţiţeica received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Basarab Pârcălab came out and tried to block the shot, but George Ţiţeica slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 52nd minute. Basarab Pârcălab made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emilian Răduța in the 55th minute of play. Samuel Iztal kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. 62 minutes into the game, Carmen Johannis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carpathians's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Buzău the free kick. George Ţiţeica's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 67thth minute, Basarab Pârcălab skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After having played for 73 minutes, Ionuț Năsturel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Buzău's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ionuț Năsturel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 78th minute Mihail Gherdan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basarab Pârcălab saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Basarab Pârcălab managed to avoid a goal in the 81stth minute, when FC Buzău's Ionuț Năsturel fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Pavel Bara kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristi Goiceanu in the 91st minute of play forced FC Buzău's goalkeeper Alex Buzincu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Carpathians getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Pavel Bara hit a great ball. When FC Buzău's Emilian Răduța in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 96th minute, Mihail Gherdan fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Basarab Pârcălab, passed just outside the right post. When the final whistle sounded FC Buzău left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Carpathians.
