Ernest Ştati took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from George Ţiţeica, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 12 minutes into the match, FC Buzău's goal looked a bit too open when Nicodim Zogreanu came free, but Alex Buzincu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as FC Buzău's Emilian Răduța slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ernest Ştati. That made the score 1-0 after 14 minutes of play. Alex Buzincu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sorin Lipan in the 18th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ionuț Nicolescu in the 21st minute of play forced FC Buzău's goalkeeper Alex Buzincu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Filpea Hotspur ★Dac★'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 22nd minute, when George Ţiţeica scored to the left of an out of position Ernest Ştati, making the score, 2-0. Alex Buzincu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Costică Brânzaș in the 27th minute of the match. Aristide Vlădoiu made in the 30th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Ilie Nasta. The supporters of FC Buzău booed when Filpea Hotspur ★Dac★ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basarab Rareș didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicodim Zogreanu in the 46th minute of play forced FC Buzău's goalkeeper Alex Buzincu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Alex Buzincu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
