The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Ionuț Mureșan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lisandro Ospin. Guinness Athletic's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ionuț Mureșan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Higinio Patxi charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Higinio Patxi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 7th minute, Higinio Patxi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ionuț Mureșan in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lisandro Ospin saved Guinness Athletic from getting behind. Tim Johnstone stood somewhat misplaced when Quinn Coyle came free in front of goal and shot 1-1 to the left of him in the 21 minute. In the 25th minute, Doney McDonald hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lisandro Ospin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hayden Moore in the 28th minute of the match. After having played for 45 minutes, Benji Murray managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Tigers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benji Murray was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ionuț Mureșan made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, The Tigers's Ionuț Mureșan ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Lisandro Ospin. Lisandro Ospin yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. The supporters of Guinness Athletic booed when The Tigers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tyrone Meehan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 59th minute, Quinn Coyle ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tim Johnstone was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Ionuț Mureșan in the 67thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lisandro Ospin, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. A collision led to The Tigers getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Ionuț Mureșan hit a great ball. The Tigers made a substitution. Phil Clarke replaced Hayden Moore. The Tigers's Sid Francis was substituted for Jonatan Fredericksen. The Tigers's Carl Atkins was substituted for Tyrone Meehan. After a rather tough play, The Tigers's Ionuț Mureșan got a free kick in the 73rd minute. In the 75th minute Ryan McNamee shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tim Johnstone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lisandro Ospin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ionuț Mureșan in the 76th minute of the match. In the 77th minute The Tigers were awarded a corner. Rio Blewitt went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on The Tigers's corner Rio Blewitt fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Lisandro Ospin quite easily take care of the ball. In the 81stth minute of the game Ionuț Mureșan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Guinness Athletic's Lisandro Ospin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 83 played minutes The Tigers got a freekick which was hit by Rio Blewitt. After a rather tough play, Guinness Athletic's Blaithmeic Dempsey got a free kick in the 90th minute. 92 minutes into the game, Ataol Bahçıvan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Tigers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guinness Athletic the free kick. In the 93rd match minute, The Tigers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ataol Bahçıvan to maneuver through the defense. Lisandro Ospin made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Carl Atkins sent off a good shot on target. 97 minutes into the match, Guinness Athletic's goalkeeper Lisandro Ospin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ionuț Mureșan. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched The Tigers eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
