In the 3rd minute, 洪振义 ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Frankie Child was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. George Broom made in the 13th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Jim Ackroyd. In the 16th minute 洪振义 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frankie Child saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that 洪振义's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Frankie Child was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. In the 24th minute, Kurt Boyce hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Arrows Academy FC getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. George Broom hit a great ball. 洪振义 has a good long shot, which he once again showed in the 36th minute of the match. Unfortunately the ball hit the outside of the left post. The supporters of Arrows Academy FC booed when Carlisle United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. 洪振义 didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Simon Roche to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, George Broom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. George Broom got a throw-in 55 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Johnny Haxby. George Broom made in the 57th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Jim Ackroyd however managed to control. The attack was good, but when Carlinhos Vidal in the 60th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, 洪振义 managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carlisle United's supporters rose to their feet, but 洪振义 was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frankie Child breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 洪振义 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frankie Child having to interfere. In the 75th minute 洪振义 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frankie Child saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 78 minutes into the match, Carlisle United's Thomas Jan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Frankie Child narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 82 minutes into the match, Arrows Academy FC's goal looked a bit too open when 洪振义 came free, but Frankie Child reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Arrows Academy FC's Kurt Boyce got a free kick in the 86th minute. Frankie Child showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 洪振义, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by 洪振义 in the 94th minute of play forced Arrows Academy FC's goalkeeper Frankie Child to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Arrows Academy FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Carlisle United.
