The Åsnes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. 7 minutes into the match, FK Mintis Vilnius's goalkeeper Gvidonas Jakimavičius had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Roman Bide. In the 10th match minute, Åsnes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petter Vartdal to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Kim Alnes took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Gvidonas Jakimavičius to make any attempt to save it. With an all-out effort, Åsnes's Gvidonas Jakimavičius threw himself towards the right post 17 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jonathan Vie, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Roman Bide could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Gvidonas Jakimavičius made a huge save. The referee felt a red card was in order, 20 minutes into the game, when John-Einar Bøen put in a rough tackle. Sigitas Ivoška struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Runar Støen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FK Mintis Vilnius. After some careless play in the FK Mintis Vilnius defense, Kim Alnes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gvidonas Jakimavičius. The FK Mintis Vilnius fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gvidonas Jakimavičius should have stopped the shot. In the 47th minute, Roman Bide hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kim Alnes to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kim Alnes in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gvidonas Jakimavičius saved FK Mintis Vilnius from getting behind. FK Mintis Vilnius's Gvidonas Jakimavičius played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonathan Vie in the 53rd minute of play. In the 54th minute, FK Mintis Vilnius's Mustafa Juodis ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Runar Støen. Runar Støen yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-3. Gvidonas Jakimavičius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathan Vie, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Kęstutis Skersys kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Gvidonas Jakimavičius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Vie in the 62nd minute of play. Gvidonas Jakimavičius showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kim Alnes in the 63rd minute of the match. When Daniel Dehli came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Åsnes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Dehli couldn't finish the play. Kim Alnes struck a weak shot in the 68th minute.
