In the 2nd minute, Osvald Kevade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC Viplala's Jüri Alango played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Risto Mäkinen in the 5th minute of play. Risto Mäkinen scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jüri Alango, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 9 minutes into the match, Toivo Karhu notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of FC Viplala's Jüri Alango. Jüri Alango was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Toivo Karhu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 16th minute Savon Palloseura were awarded a corner. Kaarle Väätäinen went to the cornerflag to take it. Jüri Alango made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toivo Karhu in the 20th minute of play. In the 24th minute Toivo Karhu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jüri Alango saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Risto Mäkinen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Risto Mäkinen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jüri Alango having to interfere. Toivo Karhu scored 0-3 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jüri Alango, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 34 minutes, Eero Kants mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Viplala and the Savon Palloseura players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, FC Viplala's Eero Kants got a free kick in the 35th minute. Jüri Alango showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Risto Mäkinen in the 37th minute of the match. FC Viplala were furious when Evert Maarjamaa was red carded, 42 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 41st minute of the game. One of FC Viplala:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Savon Palloseura:s goal. The referee gave Savon Palloseura a penalty, 43 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Kaarle Väätäinen, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of FC Viplala's Jüri Alango. 0-4. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Toivo Karhu to strike the kick off in the second half. Gabriel Suominen charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gabriel Suominen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Niilo Myötänen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Osvald Kevade, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Gabriel Suominen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Jüri Alango tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jüri Alango took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toivo Karhu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Savon Palloseura booed when FC Viplala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tauno Veevo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 62nd match minute, FC Viplala was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arvo Lapp to maneuver through the defense. In the 63rd minute, Toivo Karhu made a precise shot to the right of Jüri Alango. FC Viplala's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. Jüri Alango made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Kaarle Väätäinen sent off a good shot on target. 75 minutes into the game, Savon Palloseura's Toivo Karhu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jüri Alango made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-7. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kaarle Väätäinen in the 78th minute of play forced FC Viplala's goalkeeper Jüri Alango to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Risto Mäkinen received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jüri Alango came out and tried to block the shot, but Risto Mäkinen slotted it home off the left post making it 0-8 in the 79th minute. Jüri Alango was out of position in the 83 minute of play, and Toivo Karhu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Toivo Karhu really showed his touch with that goal: 0-9. Toivo Karhu hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Toivo Karhu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jüri Alango. That made the score 0-10 in the 92 minute of play. Jüri Alango made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Kaarle Väätäinen sent off a good shot on target. Savon Palloseura's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
