Uwe Ziege tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 7th match minute, FC ARK CS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oscar Duke to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of FC ARK CS booed when Rot-Weiss-Essen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hjalmar Blumentritt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elmar Assing's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Isaac Beesley read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. Isaac Beesley came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Rot-Weiss-Essen's Ebbo Böse. But to his dismay, Ebbo Böse quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Isaac Beesley came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Rot-Weiss-Essen's Erkan Fostiropoulos. But to his dismay, Erkan Fostiropoulos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 30th minute, Gaz Coleman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 34 minutes into the game, Erkan Fostiropoulos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Isaac Beesley was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Tyler Byfield came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the FC ARK CS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tyler Byfield couldn't finish the play. Gunther Schößler made in the 42nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Erkan Fostiropoulos however managed to control. If Xavi Haberer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Erkan Fostiropoulos in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Isaac Beesley saved FC ARK CS from getting behind. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Isaac Beesley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ebbo Böse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC ARK CS's Isaac Beesley proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save FC ARK CS from getting a goal against them. In the 64th minute Ebbo Böse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isaac Beesley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ebbo Böse got free with Isaac Beesley in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hjalmar Blumentritt's late challenge caught a FC ARK CS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hjalmar Blumentritt helped the player get up and apologised. In the 76th match minute, Rot-Weiss-Essen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hjalmar Blumentritt to maneuver through the defense. Isaac Beesley was a little too slow when Erkan Fostiropoulos got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 83rd minute. The score was now 0-5. In the 90th minute of the match, Erkan Fostiropoulos tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Isaac Beesley saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.
