The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Bårjåsnjárgga getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Emil Seljeseth hit a great ball. An unexpected shot in the 3rd minute by Finn Skjørestad got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a defensive mix-up in Bårjåsnjárgga's zone, Jens Garberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christer Larsson came out of the goal and Jens Garberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Jens Garberg fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Saga TF's protests and gave Jens Garberg a yellow card for diving instead. Bårjåsnjárgga's Gaute Sundberg was substituted for Eskil Holmefjord. In the 12th minute, Jens Garberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Saga TF booed when Bårjåsnjárgga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marius Davidsen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edvin Hodneland didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gaute Sundberg went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. If Fredrik Folkvord had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
