Idar Istad took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edin Džeko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julian Froylan hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Daustad's Børge Børseth got a free kick in the 35th minute. In the 37th match minute, Daustad was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Liknes to maneuver through the defense. After 37 played minutes, KFC Uerdingen 05's Tom Eberhardt shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Idar Istad came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. Idar Istad showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edin Džeko, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The supporters of KFC Uerdingen 05 booed when Daustad was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tom Dyrnes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Idar Istad made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ariel Breiffel in the 90th minute. 95 minutes into the match, Daustad's goalkeeper Idar Istad had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aage Schwabe. KFC Uerdingen 05's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
