The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gerry Roebuck during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gerry Roebuck hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Sindre Walle hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. 6 minutes into the match, FC Nordsjælland's goal looked a bit too open when Barrie Newell came free, but Henning Sæmer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 9th minute of the match, Barrie Newell got a very nice opportunity to score, but Henning Sæmer was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Barrie Newell received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Henning Sæmer came out and tried to block the shot, but Barrie Newell slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 14th minute. In the 19th minute, Jeppe Tverskov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd minute, Barrie Newell ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Henning Sæmer was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. 2-1 became the score in the 27th minute when Dimitar Berbatov elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The supporters of FC Nordsjælland booed when Clapham Comets F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barrie Newell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felix Beat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sindre Walle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 37 minutes into the match, Clapham Comets F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Dimitar Berbatov came free, but Felix Beat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barrie Newell's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Henning Sæmer firmly grabbed it by the left post. Henning Sæmer was out of position in the 42 minute of play, and Barrie Newell capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Barrie Newell really showed his touch with that goal: 3-1. In the 46th minute Barrie Newell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henning Sæmer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sammy Le Tissier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Henning Sæmer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Henning Sæmer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Calum Frost, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Barrie Newell in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Henning Sæmer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Felix Beat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dimitar Berbatov, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Henning Sæmer came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Clapham Comets F.C.'s Barrie Newell. But to his dismay, Barrie Newell quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Barrie Newell in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Henning Sæmer saved FC Nordsjælland from getting behind. Jeppe Tverskov hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Brad Symons charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Brad Symons the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Clapham Comets F.C.'s Brad Symons got a free kick in the 76th minute. In the 78th minute FC Nordsjælland were awarded a corner. Daniel Svensson went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Daniel Svensson almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Clapham Comets F.C.'s Felix Beat did a great save. Karl Hermer hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. In the 90th minute Barrie Newell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henning Sæmer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Nordsjælland's Henning Sæmer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barrie Newell in the 94th minute of play. Clapham Comets F.C.'s supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
