Jakov Stähr scored 0-1 in the 3rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ed Ingram, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ed Ingram showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jakov Stähr, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 14 minutes had been played when some careless play by Gone With the Win's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Kai Petermann was slow to take the kick. During this time Sydney FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Kai Petermann almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Gone With the Win's Ed Ingram did a great save. 21 minutes into the match, Kyle Eglington had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rasmus Gölz. Sydney FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kyle Eglington was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. In the 28th minute, Tommy Merris hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 30th minute, Jakov Stähr ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ed Ingram was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. After a rather tough play, Gone With the Win's Rio Dunn got a free kick in the 32nd minute. In the 33rd minute of the match Harald Inger shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ed Ingram showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jimmy Mulford hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Per Schäfer in the 35th minute of play forced Gone With the Win's goalkeeper Ed Ingram to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ed Ingram didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Per Schäfer went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. In the 38th minute, Jakov Stähr made a precise shot to the right of Ed Ingram. Gone With the Win's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-6. Sydney FC's Rasmus Gölz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Sydney FC from getting a goal against them. 47 minutes into the match, Gone With the Win's goal looked a bit too open when Thorben Rittmann came free, but Ed Ingram reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-6.
After 52 played minutes Sydney FC got a freekick which was hit by Nat Schmitt. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rio Dunn in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rasmus Gölz saved Sydney FC from getting behind. Rasmus Gölz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rio Dunn in the 56th minute of play. Gone With the Win's Ed Ingram played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Per Schäfer in the 62nd minute of play. Gone With the Win's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Per Schäfer 66 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-7. With a little luck, Gone With the Win's Ed Ingram got control of the ball when Jakov Stähr tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ollie Kennedy hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Jakov Stähr fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ed Ingram having to interfere. In the 82nd minute, Jimmy Mulford hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Erich Egger kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Ed Ingram showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Per Schäfer, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Sydney FC's Jakov Stähr slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ed Ingram. That made the score 1-8 after 87 minutes of play. Sydney FC's Rasmus Gölz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rio Dunn in the 90th minute of play. Rio Dunn took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rasmus Gölz. Rasmus Gölz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-8. Per Schäfer might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ed Ingram. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Per Schäfer ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 97th minute, Erich Egger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Sydney FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
