After 23 minutes, Matthew Brookman made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Pheonix FC's Tyge Oehlerich tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wolfgang Vesterø got free with Fabien Barthez in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pheonix FC's Tyge Oehlerich played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matthew Brookman in the 28th minute of play. After 33 played minutes Pheonix FC got a freekick which was hit by 任正振. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wolfgang Vesterø in the 35th managed to get into a good position. Egg Chasers FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kenny Duckworth was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Damian Stonehouse to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute Egg Chasers FC were awarded a corner. Kenny Duckworth went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Kenny Duckworth got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Tyge Oehlerich quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Fabien Barthez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wolfgang Vesterø, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. 56 minutes into the game, Pheonix FC's Wolfgang Vesterø nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fabien Barthez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The supporters of Pheonix FC booed when Egg Chasers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matthew Brookman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fabien Barthez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wolfgang Vesterø, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
