Thomas Papagiotopoulos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cezary Sawicki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 11th match minute, GFK Osogovo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Slave Temelkov to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cezary Sawicki in the 13th minute of play forced ΠΑΟΚ FC's goalkeeper Thomas Papagiotopoulos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anestis Kapataidakis charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anestis Kapataidakis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With his leg Pande Georgijevski managed to avoid a goal in the 18thth minute, when ΠΑΟΚ FC's Diogenis Priovolos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 24 minutes into the match, ΠΑΟΚ FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cezary Sawicki came free, but Thomas Papagiotopoulos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Diogenis Priovolos was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of ΠΑΟΚ FC booed when GFK Osogovo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cezary Sawicki didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pande Georgijevski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diogenis Priovolos in the 53rd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Paskal Partenijev could shoot a difficult shot in the 79th minute, which Thomas Papagiotopoulos however easily saved by the left post. In the 84th minute, Ciriaco Salvator hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Migjen Mena struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Thomas Papagiotopoulos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GFK Osogovo. The GFK Osogovo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing GFK Osogovo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
