In the 12th minute Emilio Conti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stathis Seremetidis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 41 minutes, Ennio Guidoni managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Merceron United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ennio Guidoni was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Stathis Seremetidis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex De Toni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

After taking down the ball on Merceron United's corner Ennio Marcantonio fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Stathis Seremetidis quite easily take care of the ball.
