The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 3rd match minute, Glyka Nera FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marios Tomaras to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Glyka Nera FC getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Michalis Labrakis hit a great ball. Sakis Karvouniaris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Akis Christatos, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Demis Tavanopoulos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sakis Karvouniaris having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Glyka Nera FC's Fivos Touboulis got a free kick in the 12th minute. After 14 minutes, Fabian Waack mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the P.A.O.K. Patras F.C. and the Glyka Nera FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Thalis Papaefthimiou could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Aris Tsobanis made a huge save. Sakis Karvouniaris didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sotiris Panagiotopoulos went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Sakis Karvouniaris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Demis Tavanopoulos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to P.A.O.K. Patras F.C. getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Sotiris Panagiotopoulos hit a great ball. Valerios Brizolakis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 27th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Aris Tsobanis. P.A.O.K. Patras F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Glyka Nera FC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Lakis Kassimatis hit a great ball. In the 32nd minute, Akis Christatos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sakis Karvouniaris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sotiris Panagiotopoulos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of P.A.O.K. Patras F.C. booed when Glyka Nera FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fivos Touboulis didn't get a good kick on the ball. 37 minutes into the match, P.A.O.K. Patras F.C.'s Dimos Vranis broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 38 played minutes Glyka Nera FC got a freekick which was hit by Eugenios Ioannidis. In the 39th minute of the match Konstantinos Pantelidis shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sakis Karvouniaris showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 42nd minute Demis Tavanopoulos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sakis Karvouniaris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Sotiris Panagiotopoulos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Thalis Papaefthimiou made a kick off. Petros Kotsios kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Thalis Papaefthimiou received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Aris Tsobanis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 60th minute, Dimos Vranis sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Glyka Nera FC's Sakis Karvouniaris didn't even have to move. In the 64th minute, Demis Tavanopoulos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sakis Karvouniaris was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. A collision led to P.A.O.K. Patras F.C. getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Ermis Karezis hit a great ball. In the 68th minute of the match Stelios Egomitis sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aris Tsobanis skillfully saved the ball. 69 minutes into the match, P.A.O.K. Patras F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Eugenios Ioannidis came free, but Aris Tsobanis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lakis Kassimatis hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. In the 74th minute Giorgos Antonopoulos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sakis Karvouniaris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Sotiris Panagiotopoulos managed to get in a good position for a shot. P.A.O.K. Patras F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Sotiris Panagiotopoulos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sakis Karvouniaris breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Demis Tavanopoulos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Sakis Karvouniaris tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sotiris Panagiotopoulos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 89 played minutes P.A.O.K. Patras F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Konstantinos Pantelidis. P.A.O.K. Patras F.C.'s fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
