With a little luck, Chaponnay FC's Dilan Bobet got control of the ball when Alberto Firmani tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arrigo Capone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evan Le Moullec in the 35th minute of play. Gonzo Style f.c's Flavio De Matteis was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 36th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The supporters of Chaponnay FC booed when Gonzo Style f.c was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amerigo Giardino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gonzo Style f.c's Arrigo Capone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sofiane Derville in the 43rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Gonzo Style f.c defense, Kevan Brossier kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arrigo Capone. The Gonzo Style f.c fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arrigo Capone should have stopped the shot. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Evan Le Moullec sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Dilan Bobet was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Chaponnay FC getting a freekick after 61 minutes play.
