In the 13th minute Arthur Rannou shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thanasis Vrasidas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Charly Boisson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thanasis Vrasidas. Mean Machine's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Charly Boisson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Dilan Bobet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hyllos Hagias, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Eduart Rrustemi charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eduart Rrustemi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 27 played minutes Chaponnay FC got a freekick which was hit by Eduart Rrustemi. The supporters of Mean Machine booed when Chaponnay FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sofiane Derville didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hyllos Hagias in the 33rd minute of play forced Chaponnay FC's goalkeeper Dilan Bobet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37thth minute of the game Christian Mattei who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chaponnay FC's Dilan Bobet was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanasis Vrasidas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arthur Rannou in the 39th minute of the match. Loukas Mastoras's late challenge caught a Chaponnay FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Loukas Mastoras helped the player get up and apologised. After 40 played minutes Mean Machine got a freekick which was hit by Loukas Mastoras. 42 minutes into the match, Chaponnay FC's goalkeeper Dilan Bobet had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Christian Mattei. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arthur Rannou was the one to do the kick off. Sofiane Derville hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. After 82 played minutes Chaponnay FC got a freekick which was hit by Sofiane Derville. During the 83rd minute of the match Loukas Mastoras completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Loukas Mastoras a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 85th minute, Sylvain Deman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Petros Kammenos lost his temper 88 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Chaponnay FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
