Manos Melogiannis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hamid Guillemet, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Manos Melogiannis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Charles-Henri Maron in the 15th minute of the match. In the 41st match minute, Sheriff was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alekos Lazarakis to maneuver through the defense. When Mathis Boureau was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 43 minutes had been played. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Takis Lazakis during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Lyon 69ers booed when Sheriff was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Takis Lazakis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sheriff's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniil Masourakis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Manos Melogiannis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hamid Guillemet in the 81st minute of play. Robert Garrigues was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 89th minute. Lyon 69ers's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Gameiro Lenoble showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Omiros Kaloumenos, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Sheriff had won after a very even match.
