Sean Friggieri hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Kurt Abdilla's late challenge caught a ERGOTELIS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kurt Abdilla helped the player get up and apologised. In the 10th match minute, ERGOTELIS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nikos Savakis to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kurt Abdilla in the 12th minute of play forced ERGOTELIS's goalkeeper Panos Drambas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th match minute, Templars FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Colin Cassola to maneuver through the defense. Panos Drambas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kurt Abdilla in the 18th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Kurt Abdilla's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Panos Drambas was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. 20 minutes into the match, ERGOTELIS's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquin Phoenix came free, but Panos Drambas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 29 played minutes ERGOTELIS got a freekick which was hit by Nikos Savakis. If Joaquin Phoenix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Templars FC were awarded a corner in the 34th minute after ERGOTELIS's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Adam Aquilina took the corner. The corner led Templars FC's Adam Aquilina to fire away a dangerous shot which Panos Drambas despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 41st minute, Templars FC's Sean Friggieri seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Sean Friggieri the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Templars FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Sean Friggieri had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 41 minutes into the game, one of Templars FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kurt Abdilla stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kurt Abdilla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Panos Drambas made a huge save. Panos Drambas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kurt Abdilla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kurt Abdilla in the 59th minute of play forced ERGOTELIS's goalkeeper Panos Drambas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st minute Templars FC were awarded a corner. Adam Aquilina went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Mark Cuschieri heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. ERGOTELIS's Panos Drambas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kurt Abdilla in the 63rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kurt Abdilla in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Panos Drambas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Joaquin Phoenix came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Templars FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joaquin Phoenix couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Kurt Abdilla's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Panos Drambas was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. Joaquin Phoenix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Panos Drambas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Templars FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Adam Aquilina in the 80th minute. Kostas Makrodimitris hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. 86 minutes into the game, Kurt Abdilla lined in a short shot 1-2 behind a frustrated Panos Drambas. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Martin Manicolo during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Templars FC's Martin Manicolo got a free kick in the 92nd minute. In the 93rd minute of the match Kostas Makrodimitris sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Samuel Demicoli skillfully saved the ball. After having played for 95 minutes, Kurt Abdilla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Templars FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
