Spectators: 162 (Terracing: 122, Seating: 37, VIP seats: 3) Paulo Teinturier made the kick off and thus started the match. After 3 minutes, Luka Le Tiec mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the R.C. Marseille and the Unione Sportiva players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Unione Sportiva booed when R.C. Marseille was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luka Le Tiec didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 5th minute, Alexandre Dubar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dimosthenis Malihoudis might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gustave Lechat. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dimosthenis Malihoudis ran back to his position shaking his head. 7 minutes into the match, Unione Sportiva's goal looked a bit too open when Bart Vetter came free, but Seleykos Sklavenitis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 9th minute, Dimosthenis Malihoudis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Paulo Teinturier put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Seleykos Sklavenitis. The supporters of Unione Sportiva booed when R.C. Marseille was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Noël Casimir didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bart Vetter took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Seleykos Sklavenitis. Seleykos Sklavenitis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in Unione Sportiva's zone, Paulo Teinturier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Seleykos Sklavenitis came out of the goal and Paulo Teinturier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 22 minutes into the match, Unione Sportiva's Augeias Pezos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gustave Lechat narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gustave Lechat stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alexandros Gavril's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. In the 27thth minute of the game Alexandros Gavril who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but R.C. Marseille's Gustave Lechat was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alexandros Gavril didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 1-2 via right post in the game's 31st minute. Unione Sportiva's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! An unexpectedly hard shot by Luka Le Tiec in the 38th minute of play forced Unione Sportiva's goalkeeper Seleykos Sklavenitis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. R.C. Marseille's Gustave Lechat proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save R.C. Marseille from getting a goal against them. Gustave Lechat stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alexandros Gavril's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. Paulo Teinturier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Seleykos Sklavenitis having to interfere. 2-2 became the score in the 47th minute when Alexandros Gavril elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alexandros Gavril made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augeias Pezos in the 53rd minute of play forced R.C. Marseille's goalkeeper Gustave Lechat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 54th match minute, R.C. Marseille was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by William Lepreux to maneuver through the defense. When Alexandros Gavril came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Unione Sportiva fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexandros Gavril couldn't finish the play. In the 60th minute of the match Unione Sportiva got a corner. R.C. Marseille's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dimosthenis Malihoudis ran over to the corner to take the kick. Unione Sportiva's Alexandros Gavril was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gustave Lechat in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 62nd minute of the match Dimosthenis Malihoudis shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gustave Lechat showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Gustave Lechat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lynkeus Pappageorge, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. With a little luck, Unione Sportiva's Seleykos Sklavenitis got control of the ball when Paulo Teinturier tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gustave Lechat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandros Gavril, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Unione Sportiva's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dimosthenis Malihoudis in the 78th minute. The corner ended in Dimosthenis Malihoudis almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but R.C. Marseille's Gustave Lechat did a great save. The crowd rose to their feet as R.C. Marseille's William Lepreux slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Seleykos Sklavenitis. That made the score 2-3 after 84 minutes of play. When Unione Sportiva's Alexandros Gavril in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye R.C. Marseille's goalie prevented a goal. R.C. Marseille's Gustave Lechat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandros Gavril in the 93rd minute of play. In the 94thth minute of the game Alexandros Gavril who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but R.C. Marseille's Gustave Lechat was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 96 minutes into the match, R.C. Marseille's goal looked a bit too open when Alexandros Gavril came free, but Gustave Lechat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luka Le Tiec kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. R.C. Marseille walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
