The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Kurt Abdilla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gustave Lechat read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. 6 minutes into the match, R.C. Marseille's goal looked a bit too open when Kurt Abdilla came free, but Gustave Lechat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Joaquin Phoenix came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Templars FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joaquin Phoenix couldn't finish the play. William Chausson kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in R.C. Marseille's zone, Joaquin Phoenix stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustave Lechat came out of the goal and Joaquin Phoenix tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edgard Schaal charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edgard Schaal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Edgard Schaal hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Luka Le Tiec from long distance, 27 minutes into the match, got Samuel Demicoli's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When Templars FC's Kurt Abdilla in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye R.C. Samuel Demicoli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Teinturier in the 38th minute of the match. In the 41st minute, Kurt Abdilla got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gustave Lechat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kurt Abdilla in the 43rd minute of play. In the 48thth minute of the game Joaquin Phoenix who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but R.C. Marseille's Gustave Lechat was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kurt Abdilla stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bart Vetter's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Samuel Demicoli read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquin Phoenix in the 55th minute of play forced R.C. Marseille's goalkeeper Gustave Lechat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Kurt Abdilla's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gustave Lechat was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. In the 73rd match minute, Templars FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquin Phoenix to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kurt Abdilla in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gustave Lechat prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When R.C. Marseille's Paulo Teinturier in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. George Pullicino's late challenge caught a R.C. Marseille's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. George Pullicino helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Templars FC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. George Pullicino hit a great ball. R.C. Marseille's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sofiane Candau in the 87th minute. A nice corner shot did that Sofiane Candau got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Samuel Demicoli quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. William Lepreux hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Templars FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Adam Aquilina in the 93rd minute. After taking down the ball on Templars FC's corner Adam Aquilina fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gustave Lechat quite easily take care of the ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
