In the 7th minute, Jean-Charles Desmoulins ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edoardo Allemandi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Malcom Gauvrit made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beppe De Tommasi in the 10th minute of play. After 12 minutes, Ghislain Couet mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the En avant de guingamp and the Sporting Club Sicilia players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 12 played minutes En avant de guingamp got a freekick which was hit by Ghislain Couet. Ghislain Couet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 19th match minute, Sporting Club Sicilia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armin Polo to maneuver through the defense. 21 minutes into the game, Guy Cordeau cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Edoardo Allemandi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 28th minute Jean-Charles Desmoulins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edoardo Allemandi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edoardo Allemandi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guy Cordeau in the 35th minute of play. Malcom Gauvrit was a little too slow when Gianluca Scamacca got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 37th minute. The score was now 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ghislain Couet in the 44th minute of play forced Sporting Club Sicilia's goalkeeper Edoardo Allemandi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 46 minutes of play, En avant de guingamp's Ghislain Couet made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edoardo Allemandi was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jean-Charles Desmoulins to strike the kick off in the second half. En avant de guingamp's Malcom Gauvrit played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flavio Scrima in the 52nd minute of play. In the 54th minute, Flavio Scrima got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. En avant de guingamp's Malcom Gauvrit played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beppe De Tommasi in the 58th minute of play. Edoardo Allemandi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Guy Cordeau in the 63rd minute. Jean-Charles Desmoulins struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Edoardo Allemandi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for En avant de guingamp. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emanuele Danza in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Malcom Gauvrit saved En avant de guingamp from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guy Cordeau got free with Edoardo Allemandi in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 80th minute, Jean-Charles Desmoulins reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Edoardo Allemandi. The goal made the score 1-4. After having played for 83 minutes, Gianluca Scamacca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sporting Club Sicilia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gianluca Scamacca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 86th minute, Gianluca Scamacca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rino Gattuso during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 88 played minutes Sporting Club Sicilia got a freekick which was hit by Rino Gattuso. Geoffroy Doumenc recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Sporting Club Sicilia booed when En avant de guingamp was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geoffroy Doumenc didn't get a good kick on the ball. En avant de guingamp's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
