The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 42nd minute, Yann Segond hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sabri Fouquet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brian Seguela in the 64th minute of the match. La Pointe Courte made a substitution. Patxi Seux replaced Tim Quantin. In the 67th minute of the match corsaire nantais got a corner. La Pointe Courte's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Clem Le Mat ran over to the corner to take the kick. Yann Segond tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Sabri Fouquet. An unnecessary self made goal, 2-0 in the 67th minute. Franck Le Saux was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but John Holmes showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 70 minute of play. In the 73rd minute Mathys Guigon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franck Le Saux saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mathys Guigon struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Franck Le Saux didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La Pointe Courte. In the 84thth minute of the game Brian Seguela who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but La Pointe Courte's Sabri Fouquet was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 87th minute Brian Seguela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sabri Fouquet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brian Seguela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Sabri Fouquet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Franck Le Saux showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mathys Guigon, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. The supporters of La Pointe Courte booed when corsaire nantais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position.
