The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eugenio Urbina in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jorge Valério saved Ponte do Carro from getting behind. Real Club Celta de Vigo were awarded a corner in the 4th minute after Ponte do Carro's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mateo Lopez took the corner. Cristo Rico made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Altino Guerreiro in the 29th minute of play. Romo Unzueta hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. 36 minutes into the match, Real Club Celta de Vigo's goal looked a bit too open when Reinaldo Calado came free, but Cristo Rico reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hassan Huerta scored 2-2 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jorge Valério, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ponte do Carro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Real Club Celta de Vigo the free kick. The supporters of Real Club Celta de Vigo booed when Ponte do Carro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celso Câmara didn't get a good kick on the ball.
