Álvaro Perpiñán was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Álvaro Perpiñán stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aris Kounadakis's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. In the 36th match minute, Sporting Burgas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodrigo Parra to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Sporting Burgas's Chico Igual got a free kick in the 39th minute. Sporting Burgas's Álvaro Perpiñán played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by García Gonzalvez in the 42nd minute of play.

Sporting Burgas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aris Kounadakis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-9. The Tirant lo Blanch players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
