Bertin Ramiréz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 11th minute Jaime Corte-Real shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bertin Ramiréz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of VB-Team booed when Los kyes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tirso Canosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Traian Hăvârneanu in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bertin Ramiréz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bertin Ramiréz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Traian Hăvârneanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Bertin Ramiréz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Corte-Real in the 25th minute of play. In the 26th minute, Dalmu Saboya hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Traian Hăvârneanu in the 45th minute of play forced Los kyes's goalkeeper Bertin Ramiréz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Traian Hăvârneanu came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the VB-Team fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Traian Hăvârneanu couldn't finish the play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Traian Hăvârneanu to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luís Caeiro got free with Bertin Ramiréz in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 53rd minute Severiano Gutierrez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldo Vilaverde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as VB-Team's Luís Caeiro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bertin Ramiréz. That made the score 1-2 after 77 minutes of play. 82 minutes into the match, Jaime Corte-Real dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Bertin Ramiréz, 1-3. Luís Caeiro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 86thth minute tested the skills of Bertin Ramiréz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 88th minute, Sandro Monteiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bertin Ramiréz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jaime Corte-Real showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-4 in the 89 minute of play. When the match was over VB-Team could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Los kyes throughout the match.
