The supporters of Gremio Viana booed when Pau Nas Canelas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oséas Moraes didn't get a good kick on the ball. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gremio Viana reached it. After 16 minutes, Carlos Luna made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Pau Nas Canelas's Gentil Miranda tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Vicente Paixão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edinho Moraes, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Gremio Viana's Vicente Paixão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Palmiro Picasso in the 55th minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, Gremio Viana's goal looked a bit too open when Palmiro Picasso came free, but Vicente Paixão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 68th minute, Armindo Marques hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pedro Espírito Santo kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edinho Moraes in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vicente Paixão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Palmiro Picasso came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Pau Nas Canelas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Palmiro Picasso couldn't finish the play. During the 78th minute of the match Oséas Moraes completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Oséas Moraes a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 91st minute, Palmiro Picasso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
