The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cassiano Arruda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Manuel Moya tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Américo Ramires came free with the goalkeeper in the 5th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Manuel Moya could save by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aparicio Ladra in the 8th minute of play forced Campus Douro Academy's goalkeeper Carlos Coelho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Plaza Babys CF booed when Campus Douro Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cassiano Arruda didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th minute, Campus Douro Academy's André Valente seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed André Valente the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Campus Douro Academy protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and André Valente had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 10 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Campus Douro Academy! Manuel Moya made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Américo Ramires sent off a good shot on target. With his leg Manuel Moya managed to avoid a goal in the 36thth minute, when Campus Douro Academy's Teófilo Trigueiro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 39th minute, Bo Kristiansson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Plaza Babys CF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. If Américo Ramires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Martinho Falcão hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Campus Douro Academy's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eric Heredia ran over to the corner to take the kick. A very nice done corner allowed Bo Kristiansson to score against Carlos Coelho in Campus Douro Academy's goal. 0-4 after 48 minutes. After the first half Plaza Babys CF were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Américo Ramires stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the game, one of Plaza Babys CF:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After a rather tough play, Plaza Babys CF's Jeremias Izaguirre got a free kick in the 60th minute. Graciano Flores kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aparicio Ladra in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Coelho saved Campus Douro Academy from getting behind.
