Spectators: 152 (Terracing: 114, Seating: 35, VIP seats: 3) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Bohuš Dačev got the match started through his kick off. After 6 minutes, Jozef Van Acker mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the YR Mechelen and the FC DNV Bratiskava players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of FC DNV Bratiskava booed when YR Mechelen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jozef Van Acker didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 8th minute, Bohuš Dačev got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 9th match minute, YR Mechelen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leo Van Mechelen to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Van Mechelen in the 11th minute of play forced FC DNV Bratiskava's goalkeeper Tomáš Zednikovič to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Miguel Van Mechelen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andries Mangelschot struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Tomáš Zednikovič didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for YR Mechelen. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bohuš Dačev in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stanny Van Wontergem prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tibor Partil kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, YR Mechelen's Andries Mangelschot ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tomáš Zednikovič. Tomáš Zednikovič yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Miguel Van Mechelen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tomáš Zednikovič read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antón Čopka in the 39th minute of play forced YR Mechelen's goalkeeper Stanny Van Wontergem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andries Mangelschot hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Miguel Van Mechelen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Miguel Van Mechelen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 56 minutes into the match, Tibor Partil notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of YR Mechelen's Stanny Van Wontergem. Stanny Van Wontergem was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Bohuš Dačev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Stanny Van Wontergem tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, Miguel Van Mechelen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tomáš Zednikovič. FC DNV Bratiskava's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Miguel Van Mechelen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. YR Mechelen's Jamie Van Mechelen quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Adam Husák, made in the 71st minute of the game. Tomáš Zednikovič showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Van Mechelen, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. In the 78th minute, Miguel Van Mechelen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tomáš Zednikovič was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Miguel Van Mechelen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC DNV Bratiskava's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because YR Mechelen had won, even though FC DNV Bratiskava had held more of the ball.
