After 17 minutes, Yordan Prashtilski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Вежен and the Zijdewind SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. 19 minutes had been played when some careless play by Вежен's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ferdi Dekens was slow to take the kick. During this time Zijdewind SC's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Ferdi Dekens got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gercho Mantarkov quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Prokopi Basarov hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Ferdi Dekens recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yuri Velkov got free with Mario Klompe in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 28 minutes into the match, Zijdewind SC's goal looked a bit too open when Sava Vatrachki came free, but Mario Klompe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sebastiaan Schattenberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gercho Mantarkov having to interfere. In the 33rd minute, Prokopi Basarov reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mario Klompe. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 37th minute, Sebastiaan Schattenberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Zijdewind SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Henk-Jan Slot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gercho Mantarkov having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Henk-Jan Slot to make the kick off. Mario Klompe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yuri Velkov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 63 minutes, Wilco Theuws mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zijdewind SC and the Вежен players grew even worse after the yellow card.
